For 20 years\, BPMH has brought together scienti sts\, scholars\, health practitioners\, and Buddhist traditions in dynamic interdisciplinary dialogue.\n\n\n\n\nYou are invited to a lecture by Dr. Pierce Salguero (Abington College\, Penn State University) on Buddhist med icine. \nThe Buddhist traditions have long approached illness as a centra l form of human suffering\, developing philosophical and practical respons es to health and healing over millennia. In this talk\, Dr. Pierce Salguer o introduces the rich and diverse tradition of "Buddhist medicine\," explo ring how Buddhist ideas and practices have been used across cultures to pr omote health while discussing how studying Buddhist medicine challenges co mmon assumptions about religion and medicine and possibilities for future research.
